Ô Sainte Thérèse de l'Enfant-Jésus,
You who lived on this earth in simplicity and humility,
You who embraced the path of spiritual childhood,
You who taught absolute trust in God's mercy,
We turn to you in this moment of prayer.
First day: Trust in Divine Providence
O Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who lived in complete trust in Divine Providence,
We entrust to you our worries and concerns.
Help us to abandon our worries into God's hands
And to believe firmly in His goodness and providence.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To live with unshakeable trust in Divine Providence.
Second day: Humility and simplicity
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who chose the way of humility and simplicity,
Learn us to strip ourselves of pride and selfishness
And to humble ourselves before God and our brothers and sisters.
May we follow your example of humility
And find true greatness in service and selfless love.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To learn from you to be humble and simple in our lives.
Third day: The love of the cross
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who embraced the cross with love and abandon,
Help us to accept life's trials and sufferings
With the same trust and humility as you.
May we see in every cross an opportunity to unite ourselves to Jesus
And to share in His redemptive work in the world.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To carry our crosses with love and abandon as you did.
Fourth day: Love of God and neighbour
O Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who loved God with all your heart and your neighbour as yourself,
Teach us to love with pure and selfless love.
May our love for God be manifested in our love for others,
Particularly the least and weakest among us.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To love as Jesus loved us and as you loved him.
Fifth day: Offering ourselves to God
St. Therese of the Child Jesus,
You who offered every little act of love to God with joy,
Learn us to offer everything to God, even the most ordinary things.
May our daily actions become offerings pleasing to God,
And may we co-operate with His grace in all we do.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To offer our lives to God with the same generosity and trust as you.
Day Six: Confident prayer
O St Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who experienced the power of prayer in your own life,
Intercede for us with God and obtain for us the graces we need.
Help us to pray with faith and confidence, knowing that God hears and answers our prayers.
May our prayer life be constant and fervent,
And may we find in God our refuge and strength in all circumstances.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To have unshakeable faith in the power of prayer.
Day Seven: The little way of love
St. Therese of the Child Jesus,
You who proposed the way of spiritual childhood to all Christians,
Help us to follow this path of trust and love.
May we understand that holiness lies in simplicity
And that every little act of love is precious in God's sight.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To follow with joy the little way of love in our daily lives.
Eighth day: The search for holiness
O Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who aspired to holiness from your earliest years,
Help us to long for holiness in our own lives.
May our quest for holiness be the driving force behind all our actions,
And may we persevere in the struggle against sin
And in the pursuit of Christian perfection.
Saint Thérèse, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To journey steadfastly along the path of holiness.
Ninth day: Hope in eternal life
Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus,
You who fixed your gaze on eternal life with firm hope,
Help us to keep our eyes fixed on heaven
And to live with the prospect of eternal life with God.
May our faith in life after death be a source of comfort and consolation,
And may we go forward with confidence on the path of life,
Knowing that God awaits us with love in His eternal home.
St. Teresa, pray for us and obtain for us the grace
To hope in eternal life and to live confidently in God's promise.
