How do you pray to your guardian angel?

Praying to your guardian angel is a simple and deeply comforting act. You don’t need to know long prayers: a few words spoken with faith are enough.

In the Christian tradition, the guardian angel is that spiritual companion whom God places by our side to watch over us, guide us and accompany us on the path that leads to Him.

Praying to one’s guardian angel is therefore, above all, turning to God with trust and asking Him for the help of the one He has placed by our side.

When should one pray to one’s guardian angel?

There is no specific time to pray to one’s guardian angel. We can do so at any time of the day.

In the morning, we can entrust the day ahead to him and ask him to accompany us in our choices, our encounters and our activities.

Before a journey, we can ask them to watch over us on our way.

When faced with a difficult decision, we can ask them to help us discern what is right and to remain attentive to God’s will.

In moments of anxiety, loneliness or trial, we can simply entrust our fears to them and ask them to stay close to us.

Finally, in the evening, our prayer can become a prayer of gratitude: thanking God for the day that has passed and asking our guardian angel to continue watching over us and those we love.

What can we ask of our guardian angel?

We can entrust to him all the realities of our lives: our worries, our family, our children, our work, our travels, our decisions and even our spiritual struggles.

We can ask them to help us resist whatever draws us away from God, to inspire us with good thoughts, to guide us towards what is good, and to help us find peace when our hearts are troubled.

But praying to our guardian angel does not mean asking them to fulfil all our wishes.

The angel is a servant of God. Their mission is not to replace God or to decide for us, but to accompany us towards Him.

Can we speak to him in our own words?

Yes, and it is actually a very beautiful way to pray.

We can speak to our guardian angel simply, just as we would when confiding something to someone who faithfully accompanies us.

A prayer can consist of just a few words:

‘My guardian angel, stay close to me today. Help me to make the right choices, protect those I love, and always lead me towards God.”

What matters is not the length of the prayer, but the faith with which we say it.

Praying to our guardian angel for those we love

We can also entrust the protection of our loved ones to God and ask for the intercession of their guardian angels.

This prayer takes on a special significance when it comes to our children.

A parent cannot be with their child every moment. When they go to school, when they travel, when they grow up and gradually become independent, we must learn to let them go their own way.

Prayer then enables us to transform our worry into trust:

‘Lord, I entrust my child to you. May their guardian angel watch over them, protect them and always guide them towards what is good. ”

We can do the same for our partner, our parents, our friends or anyone going through a difficult time.
