Lord Jesus, Good Shepherd,
You who call each one by name and watch over your flock with tenderness,
We come to you today with trust and gratitude.
You are the guide who never tires of seeking out the lost sheep,
The guardian who protects, the heart that comforts and lifts us up.
Teach us to recognise your voice amidst the noise of the world,
And give us the courage to follow you on the path of life.
Take care of those who are lost, wounded or discouraged,
Carry those who can go no further, enlighten those who doubt,
And fill our hearts with your peace and joy.
Lord, we entrust your Church to you,
Grant her shepherds after your own heart,
Faithful, humble and loving servants,
Who guide your people with wisdom and truth.
Make each of us witnesses to your goodness,
Capable of loving, listening to and serving our brothers and sisters,
So that all may discover in you the source of life.
You who live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
