O Saint Jerome, Doctor of the Church and devoted servant of the Word of God, on this blessed day I come to you with a humble and trusting heart. You who dedicated your life to studying the Scriptures and spreading the Truth, I ask you to inspire me and accompany me on my own spiritual quest. You have sought wisdom through meditation, prayer and hard work, and I ask you to help me cultivate these same virtues in my daily life.
Saint Jerome, you who have received from God great intelligence and profound insight for understanding and translating the Holy Scriptures, help me to know God's Word better and to put it into practice in my life. Grant me the grace of study and reflection, so that, like you, I may plunge into the depths of the sacred texts and find there the divine light that enlightens my path.
O Saint Jerome, you have endured trials, led a life of asceticism in the desert, and found in solitude a place of communion with God. Help me, in my moments of solitude and trial, not to be discouraged but to turn to God for strength and comfort. Inspire me to seek inner silence and peace of soul so that I can hear God's voice in the stillness of my heart.
Saint Jerome, you always defended the truth with courage and perseverance, even when you faced opposition. Give me the strength to be a defender of the truth in my own life, that I may always remain faithful to Christ's teachings and to the Church, even when it is difficult. Help me to be courageous in my convictions, to always seek what is right and to defend it with charity and patience.
O you who so loved the Word of God, inspire me to love it in my turn. Grant that I may never be indifferent to the Scriptures but that, through your prayer, my heart may always be burning with the desire to know Christ better through them. Teach me to deepen my faith and to meditate on the Word of God every day, so that it may become a source of wisdom and transformation in my life.
Saint Jerome, patron saint of translators, librarians, and scholars, I entrust to you all those who work in the study and transmission of knowledge. Grant them the gift of humility and wisdom, so that they may use their talents for the glory of God and the good of humanity. Intercede for all students, for those who work in libraries and research centres, that they may be enlightened by the light of truth and guided in their quest for knowledge.
Saint Jerome, I also entrust to you all my personal intentions (here, mention your specific intentions). You who are a powerful intercessor with God, present my prayers and requests before the throne of the Lord. Help me to accept God's will in my life with serenity and confidence, even when I do not understand his plans.
