Lord God,

We give you thanks for the life and witness of Saint Anthony the Great,

who devoted his life to the search for evangelical perfection

in the solitude of the desert and in the struggle against temptations.

St Anthony,

You who found God in silence and prayer,

And who shared your wisdom and love with so many disciples,

Intercede the Lord for us,

That he may grant us the grace of perseverance in the faith,

And the strength to resist the temptations that beset our path.

Protect us, Saint Anthony,

In times of trial and doubt,

Guide us towards the light of truth,

And help us to follow the example of your love for God and for others.

Saint Anthony,

Patron of lost things and of souls in search of truth,

Intercede for us with God,

That we may recover what we have lost,

And that our hearts may always be open to divine grace.

Give us, Saint Anthony,

The grace of conversion of heart,

The strength of humility,

And the joy of encountering God in our daily lives.

Saint Anthony the Great,

Pray for us and for all who seek God,

That we may all one day share

In the eternal joy of communion with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
