O Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen of Heaven and Mother of Mercy, we turn to you with humble and grateful hearts at this sacred moment when we invoke the mysteries of your Holy Rosary. You who are our morning star, guide us through the twists and turns of our lives, illuminating our path with the light of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
At the beginning of each Ave Maria, we meditate on the Annunciation, that divine moment when the Archangel Gabriel greeted you as full of grace, and you, with humble submission, accepted God's will by becoming the Mother of the Saviour. May this meditation teach us trusting obedience in the face of God's mysterious designs, and may it strengthen our faith in his divine providence.
During each decade, we contemplate the joyful, luminous, sorrowful and glorious mysteries of the life of your Son, Jesus. May these moments of prayer deepen our understanding of God's infinite love manifested in Jesus Christ, and may we be inspired to follow his teachings and imitate his example.
During the joyful mysteries, we reflect on Christ's birth, his childhood in Nazareth and the presentation in the Temple. Holy Mary, Mother of God, intercede for us, so that, like you, we may welcome Jesus into our lives with ineffable joy.
In the luminous mysteries, we contemplate Jesus' baptism, his miracles and the institution of the Eucharist. Holy Mary, Queen of Apostles, grant us the grace to live our lives in the light of the eternal truth of your Son.
The sorrowful mysteries lead us to the garden of Gethsemane, the way of the cross, the crucifixion and the death of Jesus on the cross. Compassionate Mother, be our comfort in times of suffering, and guide us through life's trials with the unshakeable faith you showed at the foot of the cross.
The glorious mysteries celebrate the resurrection, the Ascension, Pentecost and your crowning as Queen of Heaven. Holy Mary, our Queen and Mother, help us to aspire to the eternal glory of the Kingdom of God and to journey with hope towards our heavenly homeland.
During each Hail Mary, we pray to you for our church, for all the faithful, for the souls in purgatory, and for the whole world. O Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, pray for us, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
