In a world often troubled by fear, division and suffering, God calls us to be peacemakers. To pray for peace is to open our hearts to the light of Christ, to ask for reconciliation, and to sow around us the hope of a more just and fraternal world.
Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, I come to You with a heart full of all the pain and tension in the world. Look at our divisions, our anger and our wounds, and come and pour over us the peace that only You can give. May your Spirit of love transform our fears into trust and our struggles into reconciliation.
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me put love; where there is offence, let me put forgiveness; where there is discord, let me put union. May my words be gentle, my gestures kind, and my heart always turned towards the light.
O God of mercy, look upon peoples torn by war and families shattered by violence. Extinguish the fire of weapons and bring down the walls of hatred. Inspire leaders with wisdom, and nations with a sincere desire for justice and peace.
Lord, you who calmed the storms on the sea, come and calm the storms of our souls. Give peace to those who weep, to those who doubt, to those who feel alone. Bring peace into homes, peace into hearts, peace into the world.
O Holy Spirit, breath of peace and gentleness, come and inhabit our lives. Teach us to love without judging, to forgive without waiting, to serve without counting the cost. May your love unite men in the same brotherhood, beyond borders and differences.
Lord, make the earth a reflection of your Kingdom. May your peace triumph in our hearts, in our families and throughout the world. And may we one day live forever in the perfect peace of your love.
Amen.
