Carlo Acutis (1991-2006) was a young Italian Catholic who was canonised by the Catholic Church in 2025. He is often referred to as the ‘cyber apostle of the Eucharist’ because of his religious devotion and his use of the internet to spread his faith. He was also known for helping the poor, using his pocket money to help them. Carlo died of fulminant leukaemia on 12 October 2006, aged 15. He offered his suffering for the Pope and the Church.
